Hattiesburg STEAM Academy's Library

Sabrina Barnes is the Librarian for the Hattiesburg STEAM Academy Library. She has over 20 years of experience in education and six years in the library.

Our librarian is a passionate book advocate who makes reading fun. She’s chairperson to our annual Scholastic book fairs and hosts an array of amazing themed events for our students, including Read Across America/Dr. Seuss' Birthday Celebration.

MISSION

The mission of the Hattiesburg STEAM Academy Library Media Program is to ensure that students are effective users of ideas and information. The library media center strives to provide the school community with a range of materials on appropriate difficulty levels that will encourage growth in knowledge, establish a life-long love of reading, and foster information literacy.

WELCOME TO HSA's LIBRARY

Hattiesburg STEAM Academy's library is spacious and inviting and equipped with an amphitheater-like story time area, comfortable reading spots, and a classroom space. Our librarian introduces library skills and good character traits while reinforcing reading comprehension skills.

The STEAM library provides a variety of materials, such as print and non-print services, to our staff and students. We have books, magazines, Chromebooks, DVDs, and a plethora of services to help our students with their schoolwork.
